Signifying the Great Mother - the Awakener & the Destroyer - this stave, which delays the energies of the Cosmos while bringing opposites into harmony, is the Seed of Knowledge. For within it's dynamic and naturalistic shape it contains/binds all of the other staves of the Futhark into this, The Mid-Point of Order.
It is here, during this difficult time of possible crisis or mis-fortune, that one begins to feel one's Önd demanding to grow. To break free from materialistic realities, to harmonize with true nature, and there-by allowing one to focus and thus control the energies around one, instead of creating an surrealistically antagonistic self-undoing of radical hopelessness, and in turn destroying what once was.
A major rune of Wyrd, Hagalaz is a form of the Ego, the conscious mediator betwixt one's self and reality, and as such is the stave of both completeness and balance, of protection and banishment. Without exaggerating one's feelings of their self-importance it is indicated by an extremely fundamental change which must then be acted upon.
This is truly an important mental step towards achieving spirituality, of becoming aware of all which is around one, of bringing forth a permanent sense of shamanistically understanding what was once Darkened.
On a side note; Hagalaz is an intense weapon of Jötunnheim.
Both ask and answer let everyone
who wishes to be deemed wise;
let one know it nor none will:
if three know, many more shall.
